On a Roll...

I know! I'm on a roll... a few blog posts already this week! It's just freezing cold here and I'm not being a wimp either! We are talking way below freezing, so I don't go out much, if at all! This is a picture of what it looked like out here this morning! I also have this phobia of driving on slick roads, so it's pure misery to go anywhere right now. The roads are covered with a thick sheet of ice. I had a found some great stuff today, surfing around while Brooklyn was napping, so I thought I'd share. First of all have any of you been reading Black Heels to Tractor Wheels?, over on the Pioneer Woman's Blog?? If not, and you have some time to kill, head over to her blog. It's hilarious. She is really a great writer! I highly recommend it. Alrighty... Zach shared this video clip with me a month or so ago, it's so sweet, and so true. Very inspiring! You can check it out Here you'll love it... I promise! I also wanted to share this cute Freebie Kit by one of my new found blogging friends, Chantri... she's one of the sweetest most talented girls ever! She just started making digi-kits... see what I mean about talented?! I also thought these were cute, and made them for my visiting teaching girls... I found them on this cute blog Who doesn't love vinyl lettering and designs??This Blog has some of the sweetest stuff I've ever seen! She has one-of-a-kind designs. I'm loving a few of them right now. Hope you find something over there that you can't live without too. :) And last if you haven't read a single one of my "tagged" surveys, you wouldn't know that one of my favorite foods ever is the Bowtie Festival from Johnny Carino's... it's to die for!Well I was reading Sherelle's blog and she had a recipe that she had thrown together, and mentioned that it tasted just like my Johnny's Bowtie Festival... I made it on Sunday and it was delicious! So for any of you fellow Bowtie Festival fans out there check it out Here I believe it's on her January 21st post. :) Hope you are having a great day!

Gordon B. Hinckley...

I remember thinking when we listened to conference in November, "I wonder if this will be his last." Then the thought fled from my mind as I enjoyed his message. I don't think there will be a man more missed then our beloved prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley, He was truly a man of God in every way. I can only imagine the sweet reunion that him and his sweet wife must have had in heaven. What an inspiration he was to myself and so many around the world.

What I've been up to...

My life is spinning pretty much out of control right now! lol. I haven't had much time at all for my blogging addiction. :) I'm half way through my i-learn photography class, I'm loving it. It's very basic. But hey, you've got to start somewhere! Oh and last night, we took a little drive up this little canyon. Zach and his dad had spotted a bunch of deer here last week. It was incredible. I bet we saw over 100 deer. We also saw a flock of swans on the river, and even a moose! We got there right before dark, so many of my pictures didn't turn out how I would have liked. Hence the photography class. :) Lighting is my next lesson. Hmm... how fitting. :) We have also been getting ready for the baby. We are leaning a little more towards the name Stetson, since both Zach & I like that one. If I had my way it would probably be Jaxson or Kanyon (today anyway.) :) I have been looking at crib sets and making a few other baby related purchases. This is the crib bedding I am looking at. I love the Pottery Barn look. Clean cut & simple. Navy, fire engine red, true green, vapor blue & brown are my favorite little boy colors.

House of the Lord...

{courtesy google images} We were able to go to the Rexburg Temple Open House last night. I debated and debated whether or not to take Brooklyn, because we got tickets for 8:40pm. After talking to a few of my friends who had taken their little ones, I decided we would brave it. I told Brooklyn all day long that we were going to go to the Temple tonight and that it was "Jesus' house" and that he would be watching, so we had to be very quiet and nice. She was a little Angel. She did so well and I am so glad we made the decision to take her. The peace that you feel in the Temple is just incredible. What a wonderful opportunity to be together as a family in the House of the Lord. The Temple was so beautiful and we are truly blessed to have two Temples so close to us. I have no excuse to not attend more frequently! If you are local, you can still go to the Open house. You can get information about it here. Anyone can go, and it is well worth your time!! It is such a special opportunity, that will probably never happen again so close to us.

Where does the time go...

Hello friends! You guys are SO much fun!! Wow, thank you so much for all the great comments in my last post. I stuck everyone's name in a random drawing, and the WINNER IS.... DOMINOE! I'll get you a goody in the mail this week! Also, I'm still looking for some unique names, so keep them coming and if we do end up using it, I'll also send you a little something too!! Judging on your comments, Braxton was by far the favorite. And then we had a tie for with Stetson, Kanyon and Jaeden for second place. We don't have very long to decide, so we'll keep brainstorming. Last week, I told you my "One Word" for the year was going to be LIVE. Well I am happy to report that I did just that. Zach came rushing home last Thursday and asked me on a whim if I wanted to go Ice Fishing. It was fairly cold out and I had an endless to do list. I have to admit that my first reaction was to say Nah, it's okay but you go ahead and have fun. However, thinking about my one word and realizing this was my perfect opportunity to incorporate it into my life, I went. I grabbed my snow stuff and Brooklyns, the camera, and some hot chocolate and we were out the door. I'm so glad I didn't go with my instinct. I had alot of fun spending the day with my two favorite people in the world. I'm so proud of myself. :)

Baby Boy...

I mentioned in an older post that we are EXPECTING!! (Well sort of...) This beautiful, sweet and amazing girl picked our adoption profile and so we are due February 18th!! Eeek!! We are so excited we can hardly stand it!! So we are trying to pick out some boy names for our new addition in February. :) Zach and I are divided on the issue. I don't want a name that is common, but I don't want one that's too far out there either. Here are the choices we have narrowed it down to and in no particular order. Jaxson, Jaeden, Stetson Braxton, or Kanyon. What do you all think? Will you PLEASE, pLeaSe, PLeaSe vote and let us know which name you like the best. Or if you have a new name that you think might work that would be awesome too!! :) If we use your new name I'll send you a prize... or I'll just draw a random winner and send you some sort of fun goody!! :) Thanks I can't wait to see your posts!

One Little Word...

Okay I've been thinking and thinking about the one word that I want to incorporate into my life this year. I think I finally came up with it. It's Live. The reason being, is sometimes with all my perfectionism and "to do lists" and great goals that I am constantly setting I forget to really stop and enjoy my life. I want to really live this year and not just let another year fly by me. I'm going to take time out for me. I'm going to have more teaparties and dress up time with Brooklyn. I want to be more supportive of Zach and really take advantage of the time we get to spend together. I want to get out of my comfort zone and try new things, for instance I'm going to take a few online classes, one being photography! I'm going to stop being so busy and really focus on what matters most to me. I'm a truly going to LIVE my life to the fullest this year.
