Our River…

I feel like the days rush by like a crazy wild river.  A river that is filled to the brim and bubbling with things like going to the zoo a few more times before summer says goodbye.

Christmas Shopping- call me crazy but I think I’m about finished!

Looking forward to Conference this weekend!

Speaking of Conference I like to put a little something together for the girls I get to visit with.

DSCN0361

It says:

Conference Listening Kit:

notebook & pen: to take notes during conference

kleenex: for those emotional talks

highlighter: to highlight memorable talks in the ensign

popcorn & m&ms: because conference should be just as good as a movie (if not better)

My dad goes in this Sunday night for his second round of Chemo. Thank you to all who have been so kind and keep him in your prayers. We appreciate it more than you will ever know. Those prayers give us strength.

Have a great week!

Jabber-walkie…

So when I was little my mom used to call me her Jabber-Walkie, because I never stopped talking, I always had something to say! My husband would say things haven’t changed. Recently I nicknamed Brooklyn my Jabber-Walkie, for obvious reasons. Like mother like daughter I guess the saying goes right?

Well it seems like sometimes I just have a lot to share. And I do love to share. Doesn’t it make it 100 x better to watch a movie, share a joke, go shopping or find a killer deal with another person? I guess that’s how I feel about sharing. It makes everything more FUN! :)

Like today, me were driving down this country road, and we have to stop because all these baby skunks & their mommy are crossing it! AHHH! CUTEST thing EVER! SO much more fun because my kids were in the car & I was on the phone with my mom! Fun to share. So I also want a de-scented skunk for a pet now. Seriously. CUTE!

Okay first off super excited about this. Did you see my post a week or so back about the Play Boy Club airing on prime time television this fall? Remember to make your voice heard if you want to help stop it you can see full details here.

Well my sweetest friend Lynn, e-mailed me and told me that already progress is being made… in Utah, KSL will not broadcast it, to see the full article go HERE! How great is that! Lynn reminded me that we can make a difference. Success starts somewhere, and I do hope our local NBC station will follow suit!

Okay, how about this- do you all love a cute font? well I found a couple tonight. and even better. They are free.

and Ma Sexy Here.

(doesn’t it look like Heidi Swapp’s handwriting?! loving it.)

So miss Brooklyn had a birthday part to go to this week, we put together a little beach bag for her friend… I went to the dollar store and picked up a little beach bag, flip flops, sunglasses, a water bottle, beach ball, threw in some lip gloss and some cute treats. You could also put sunscreen, a beach towel , nail polish etc. for a fun & inexpensive gift.

I thought it turned out pretty cute.

Another little idea for birthdays:

Give a single cupcake and a card to your neighbor or friend. They also sell individual pieces of cake in most bakeries in the grocery store!

Here are the handouts I made for the lesson this week on Eternal Perspective.

Halloween lunch…

Last week, we hosted a little lunch. I LOVE the girls I get to visit teach. They are all awesome!
Speaking of the girls I visit teach, Nikki is one of them and let me tell you she can cook! Everything I have tasted that she has made has been pure heaven. And it gets better. She will sell it to you. What is better than eating chocolate chip cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting? Eating them and not having to clean up the mess from making them!  She seriously is amazing! Check out her blog Desserts on Demand  & her Facebook Page.

We made Pumpkin Pie Playdough for the kids. Get the recipe over on my other blog  HERE. Smelled so good, I thought I might take a bite!

Calling All Angels…

Saturday night I made these cute little “S’more Kits” to take into the young women’s at church. I just got called to be the “assistant girls camp director”, it’s crazy really… since I don’t really have a camping bone in my body! haha. We needed to get their release forms back, so I thought it would be cute to have a little handout to get them excited about it. I think they would be cute for a number of little party favors or handouts!
042510 025
I also wanted to brag just a tiny bit… is this not THEE cutest little lady bug drawing! My sweet little 4 year old drew this! I think she’s pretty darn creative & artistic! Makes me smile every time I walk by the fridge!
042510 013
And I also wanted to tell you about something my little sister Angie is doing… It’s been almost one year since she gave birth to our sweet angel baby Jayden. In honor of him she is doing a service project:
This is what she says:
“Ok, so I have an idea for a service project I want to do and you are more than welcome to participate in it with me. My son Jayden’s 1 year birthday is on May 30 and I wanted to do something in honor of him. This song is what I want to call the service project:
"Calling All Angels"
I’ve decided to donate BABY BLANKETS to a local hospital, shelter, or wherever (I haven’t really decided where I can/want to yet).
If you want to help, you can donate a blanket or blankets by making or buying them and bring them to me and I will take them to the place I find to donate them. There are no specifications for the blankets on what size, type of material, etc.
I’m leaning towards a hospital particularly a NICU for premature babies as I know how meaningful the blankets I have of Jayden’s are. It is something physical I was able to  take home with me and that I can pull out and hold when I’m missing him.
I’ll be donating the blankets near his actual birthday and wanted to give you a heads up so if you wanted to participate that you would have enough time to. If you don’t live near me you can mail them to me or drop them off at my parents house.”
If you have questions you can visit Angie’s blog or contact one of us via e-mail: angie(dot)guymon(at)gmail(dot)com or sunshineinmysoul_33(at)yahoo(dot)com
Thank you in advance! I know this means the world to Angie! She is one tough little lady! I admire her so much! Her heart is breaking, yet instead of pulling inside herself she reaches out to others in need. She is one of my heroes! ♥

How to get your VT done on the 2nd day of the month…

Hello friends! I feel like I’m running around in circles this week. I just wanted to get this cute idea up so if you wanted to use it too, you could. I made these little conference baskets for the women I visit teach. I included some snacks, conference journals for their kids that I found HERE. Kleenexes for that talk that gets to you. A water bottle, and a yellow notebook and pen, on the notebook I wrote “Did you know that President Monson’s favorite color is Yellow?” , and a package of cinnamon or orange breakfast rolls.
DSCN5383
Just a fun way to get your VT done and in the first couple of days in the month! Wahoo!
Have a great weekend!
