Thankful Hearts & a New Surgery Date…

As we approach Thanksgiving tomorrow, we want to tell each of you who visit us here, at home, in prayer, in service and many other ways,how very, very grateful we are that we have you in our life. Supporting us through this difficult trial. We love you. We can't wait for the day when it is our turn to give back. We say it again and again, but we are humbled by the wealth of blessings we see each and ever day. Though the road has been extremely difficult, we have hope & we feel slivers of peace throughout each day.

They have bumped dad's surgery up to this Tuesday the 29th. Mom & dad will travel down to Huntsman's on Monday for the MRI & pre-op anesthesia and then they will decide after studying the MRI what the best plan is for dad's leg. We will keep you updated here as we receive more information from my mom on that day. We are holding a fast this Sunday for those who feel so inclined to participate with us for dad, that everything will go smoothly for him. Thank you so much. We truly feel the strength your prayers and fasting bring. We post most of the updates for dad HERE.

Projects, Quotes, Recipes, & Gratitude…

Today we are going to attempt making one of those cute little boy ties. I bought a pattern from HERE.

I’ve got this recipe in the crock pot. Hope it turns out as good as it smells! I found it HERE. {FUN FUN Blog!}

Chicken Cordon Bleu in the Crock Pot

8 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 tsp salt

1/8 tsp white pepper (I just used black pepper)

1 tsp dried thyme leaves

8 thin slices boiled ham

2 onions, chopped

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 (16 oz) bag baby carrots

1 (16 oz) jar Alfredo sauce

1 (10 oz) can cream of chicken soup

2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

1. Sprinkle chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and thyme. Wrap a slice of ham around each breast and secure with toothpicks.

2. Place onion, garlic, and carrots in a 5 to 6 quart slow cooker. Top with wrapped chicken breasts. I decided to cook my veggies in my steamer and serve them on the side instead.

3. In medium bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Pour into slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Serve chicken and carrots with sauce.

I served my chicken on top of brown rice with the sauce on the top.

Live in Thanksgiving Daily {Alma 34:38}…

We don’t have many traditions for our little family on Thanksgiving, we are still trying to build some, mostly it’s just a day of reflecting on our many blessings, spending time with our families, and eating great food! I am always overwhelmed with gratitude and it’s always a holiday that I look forward to. I truly am so blessed.

Here are a few ideas I’ve seen around that I hope to incorporate into our day this year.

For the Kiddie Table… because we ALL know how important it is to keep them busy and happy thus keeping everyone else sane! ;)

A few other ideas those sweet little blessings in our lives!

This is what we did for Family Home Evening on Monday, we made these cute little turkey’s by tracing our hands and feet, then we talked to the kids about being thankful and what Thanksgiving is all about. They loved it!

I’m also debating which one of these treats to whip up for them to have fun with. I like the rice krispie treat balls best, but am leaning more towards the cookies, since we have 1 year olds and I don’t believe in giving one year olds violent weapons. ;)
