Campfire Eclairs & a Super Hero…

So you know when you get super comfortable with your life and things are going just fine, and then Heavenly Father realizes it’s time to make you stretch and grow?! Well that’s my life right now. I guess it’s a good thing, but man, sometimes growing hurts a little. I bet you can all relate. To tell you the truth it’s my own fault, I have been praying for Heavenly Father to mold me into the person He wants me to be, to bless me with patience, compassion & more humility. Looks like He has a plan. I hope I’m ready.

I just got called to be back with the Young Women (the youth group in our church) I’m a little nervous. I serve with the most amazing women & I already feel very inadequate, not to mention I don’t know how I will ever have the energy to  keep up with these incredible young girls! ha!

We had our first activity, and I already learned something new and YUMMY for that matter!

We made Campfire Eclairs

Family Spice Recipe for Campfire Éclairs

recipe & picture from {family spice}

  1. Pre-soak your large sticks in water for 20 minutes to prevent burning
  2. Cover your stick with butter, to prevent sticking.
  3. Open and unroll:
    • 1 package refrigerated biscuit dough
  4. Stretch out and flatten one biscuit round in your hand.
  5. Stretch the dough over your stick, smoothing out any creases. For quick and even cooking, make sure dough is about 1/4-inch thick,
  6. Place dough covered stick over the flames and cook until evenly browned, about 5-10 minutes. Rotate stick continuously to prevent burning.
  7. Biscuit shell is done when all sides are browned and inside is cooked through.
  8. Carefully, remove biscuit shell from stick.
  9. Fill inside with:
    • pre-made chocolate and/or vanilla pudding
    • strawberries, sliced
  10. Top éclair with:
    • whip cream
    • chocolate sprinkles or candies

Trust me just, GO HERE & look at THIS it’s beautiful! I love the reminder!

Do you or have you ever dealt with Infertility? I came across this beautiful post and had an AHA! moment!! Go read her blog. I think you will probably be able to relate. Some people just have a way with words.

Particularly this part:

Dear (insert your name here),

You are a good mom. You love your children.

Heavenly Father knew that you could handle this trial.

He CHOSE you.

It is hard.

You can do hard things.

Sometimes when you feel your blood boil, and you want to scream at the top of your lungs,

"IT'S NOT FAIR"

It's ok.

Because it's not fair.

Life is not fair.

And that is what makes it all so beautiful!

You are right, it would be far easier to have a body that works.

But yours does not.

And even though you are learning and growing so much because of it,

sometimes the pain feels like it might suffocate you.

But your infertility is not about you.

It is not an attack of your character.

It is not a punishment for something you have done.

It is not because you are incapable of being a great mother to many.

You are not broken on accident.

Heavenly Father did not skip over you because you were undeserving.

You were not forgotten.

Instead, He hand chose you out of the crowd, and precisely changed you to be the person you are. I believe he took you aside, put his arm around you, and with tears streaming down his very own face, knowing it will break your heart, asked if you if could carry this burden.

He promised you would never be alone. And he would bless you!

But, he would need to make you differently.

Not to break you.

But to create miracles for your eyes to see.

Every day.

You were not stripped of the most sacred act of multiplying and replenishing to your hearts content, because you were not worth it to be made whole.

You may feel broken, and forgotten, in your divine right of motherhood.

But you were made from scratch!

Everything you have been given, has been given by God.

"The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Cry until your soul hurts. Because it is hard.

But don’t ever feel broken.

I am feeling grateful today. I truly am blessed. I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us. He knows us better than we know ourselves. He is there waiting for us to reach out and ask for His help. I’m always amazed at how He is right here, involved in the big miracles and in all of the little details in our lives as well. We must trust in Him, we must have Faith in him. We must look around and notice that He is directing our paths. We must realize that we are enough & He will take care of the rest. He is in charge, and I’m okay with that, more than okay, I find great peace in those words. I am not alone, and I don’t have to control all the details (which is often hard for me, but I am working on it!)

And is this not the cutest little super hero EVER? Seriously. ♥ I turned my head and you stole a piece of my heart. – unknown

This little guy told his teacher @ church that his dad makes money and his mom makes cookies! I've laughed all day about it!

Wishin' the sun would come out...

Hello! Well believe it or not I am slowy getting caught up and things are returning to normal around here. I wish the sun would come back out! I have a few things I wanted to share with you. Maybe this will brighten your day...
First off any of you that are locals check this out! I just scheduled a family photo shoot with Tawsha at The Color Blue Photography. She is an amazing photographer, and she will be coming up to our area for 2 days only. Her prices are very competitive and she does an excellent job. To book a session with her or to see more of her work please go HERE. She has a really classy yet funky & fresh style! Perfect for Spring!

I ♥ Snapfish, and they have a great deal going on right now! Go HERE. to get 100 4x6 prints for $12.99 that includes shipping! I'm just about done uploading all mine to be printed!

Also look what I got in the mail right before I left on my trip to Cali... this CUTE card holder. I've been in dier need of something to help me get my cards organized. Thank YOU Nicole!! I absolutely love it!!
Okay what else, Oh! My friend Natasha started up a new blog. It's called Keepin' Romance Alive. She posts fun date night ideas for you & the Mr. What a great idea!

Her Mother-in-law also just started up her own little business called Grandma's Lace. Jean is extremely crafty and talented. She takes vintage doilies or other family heirlooms, and makes them into beautiful quilts/ throw pillows etc. To see her work go HERE. What a great gift idea, especially for someone who has everything! What a beautiful keepsake this would be for someone who has lost a loved one or has keepsakes like this sitting in a box somewhere.

And last of all, I just love this cute idea. I'm using it as a visiting teaching handout this month, but I think the possiblities are endless. (Cute party favor, handout at church etc.) All it is is one of those paper CD Sleeves. You can get a package of 100 for like $5 bucks. I wish I had made different cookies, ones that didn't have frosting on them and were a little bit bigger... like chocolate chip or something. But you get the general idea right? I think they are cute!

Happy Wednesday!

What I've been up to...

My life is spinning pretty much out of control right now! lol. I haven't had much time at all for my blogging addiction. :) I'm half way through my i-learn photography class, I'm loving it. It's very basic. But hey, you've got to start somewhere! Oh and last night, we took a little drive up this little canyon. Zach and his dad had spotted a bunch of deer here last week. It was incredible. I bet we saw over 100 deer. We also saw a flock of swans on the river, and even a moose! We got there right before dark, so many of my pictures didn't turn out how I would have liked. Hence the photography class. :) Lighting is my next lesson. Hmm... how fitting. :) We have also been getting ready for the baby. We are leaning a little more towards the name Stetson, since both Zach & I like that one. If I had my way it would probably be Jaxson or Kanyon (today anyway.) :) I have been looking at crib sets and making a few other baby related purchases. This is the crib bedding I am looking at. I love the Pottery Barn look. Clean cut & simple. Navy, fire engine red, true green, vapor blue & brown are my favorite little boy colors.

An end and a beginning...

Our Wii party went well... except for the fact that I came in 4th... that's not even a bronze medal. Of course the boys: dad, Zach & Neal were the final 3 competitors. It was a close bowling game, but Zach barely pulled ahead and well he was crowned CHAMP. Super fun, it may become a tradition. And the best part, I have all year to practice my bowling skillz. haha. It has been snowing like crazy, I took a few pics of the winter wonderland that we have been enjoying on Friday and thought I would share a few of them. I LOVE snow pics in black and white for some reason... kind of vintage and quaint don't you think?

Also found a new fave. song. It's "Here Comes the sun" by Sheryl Crow. It's from the Bee Movie soundtrack. Love the lyrics.Loved the movie too. It could be my theme song right now in the dead of winter!! You can listen to it here I'm still in an organizing kick. I love it. I have a good size load to take to the DI. Feels so good to simplify. I'm really loving thissite right now too for inspiration. :) I'm making some new years resolutions... I go back and forth, part of me thinks why?...so you can be let down when you don't make it to your goal, but I've been thinking alot this year about self improvement and you know what I've decided?Yes, I am going to make resolutions, because at least it's a step in the right direction, as long as I am improving myself little by little I feel like I'm on the right track. So Here's to 2008! I think it's going to be a really fabulous year!! I also like this girl'stake on things... check it out. I'm going to try to come up with one little word too that describes my goals for 2008. What would your word be??

Thankfulness...

I can't believe I forgot to post this... I love this picture. Zach took it last week off our front porch. It's beautiful don't you think?! I am so thankful for all that I have. A healthy family. A home to shelter me. Freedom. Faith. Family. You know... all the usual stuff, but we live in an amazing country where "the usual stuff" is coveted all over the world. I am so thankful for ALL that I have. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone, here's to all "the usual stuff" we have to be thankful for!!

Be who You ARE...

I ran across this quote the other day: "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." – Dr. Seuss I really loved it. I just hope that I can instill this into my own children. I think that one of the best gifts you can give a child is a good healthy, self esteem! Here are a few pics we snapped of Brooklyn the other day, she is just too cute!!
